3rd Annual Adolescent Allies Art Show

McHenry County high school students will have the opportunity to win college scholarship money by submitting a piece of artwork reflecting the theme of: Self Esteem: Body, Mind Or Soul.

College scholarship money will be awarded as follows: 1st place $1,000; 2nd place $500; 3rd and 4th place $250. Student artwork will be displayed at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park in Crystal Lake from May 2—9. A reception, presentation and awards ceremony will take place on Friday, May 6. The reception will be from 5:00 – 9:00 pm with the presentation and awards ceremony beginning at 7:00 pm.

Accompanying the presentation on May 6 will be a brief educational info-session that focuses on and raises awareness of today’s issues surrounding sexual assault such as “sexting,” date rape drugs, and consent. Parents are encouraged to attend this event to learn the latest information.
