“SLEEPOUT FOR SHELTER”

to help the Homeless

For the first time, on April 17,  2010, McHenry County residents are invited to participate in “SLEEPOUT FOR SHELTER”, a fundraiser held at various locations around McHenry County.  We are looking for groups to plan and fundraise support for McHenry County PADS.

Schools, churches, businesses, and individual homes can turn their lawns into temporary homeless shelter sites by providing a temporary camp site for the night.  We anticipate that more than 1,200 “sleepers” will spend the night outside in tents, cars, backyards and other locations and will raise pledges from friends and family.

The event will kick off with a rally, motivational speakers and testimonials from homeless individuals.

We are looking for groups and individuals who would like to participate in this countywide event.

PADS hopes to raise $135,000 in order to fulfill its mission to connect homeless families to a brighter future.
