FEES: The Illinois Lawyer Referral Servies is a free service. The attorneys will charge $15 for the first 30 minute consultation, by appointment, and then will charge their regular fees

MISC: Persons seeking legal assistance can be referred to a private practicing attorney in their area or close to their area. The attorneys are not legal aid, low-income or pro bono. The referral entitles the caller to a 30 minute consultation in the attorney's office for a fee of not more than $15, with no obligation. At the initial consultation, the client should discuss fees and method of payment if further representation is needed. The Illinois Lawyer Referral Services refers attorneys statewide but does not serve the following counties because they have their own referral services: Cook, Kane, Will, Peoria, Lake, DuPage, Winnebago

SERVICES: Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit organization that will pay cash rewards of up to $1,000 to persons furnishing information leading to the arrest and the filing of criminal charges against crime offenders and for capture of fugitives. Callers remain anonymous, with no pressure to reveal their identity and still collect their rewards. Crime Stoppers is a program which involves the publicand the media in the fight against crime. Anonymous callers are issued a secret code number used when collecting the reward.

A special reward would be considered for information leading to the recovery of a gun or other dangerous weapon in school, on a school bus or on school ground.
