Behavioral Health Residential Program
Our goal is to help individuals live as independently and productively as possible throughout their lives, while receiving the support they need to live safely. We provide either a supportive living program where the individual lives more independently with support from our staff or a group home environment.
Group Homes
Pioneer Center’s Group Homes provide a family living environment, where adults share a home in the community with up to seven peers, under the supervision of caring staff. Our Group Homes are immaculately maintained and are renowned for their homey feel and passionate staff support. The residents share in all aspects of running a Pioneer Center group home, such as cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping. Pioneer Center has five behavioral health group homes nestled in neighborhoods throughout McHenry County.
Staff Skills
Staff also assists individuals with a variety of skills including:
- Psychiatric stability
- Medication monitoring
- Social skills training
- Counseling
- Budgeting
- Daily living skills training and problem-solving
Welcome Package Wish List
When our residents move into an independent group home, we like to make them feel welcome by providing a few essentials. If you are interested in donating a welcome package to one of our new residents, please provide the following “NEW” items:
- A laundry basket
- twin sheets with a pillowcase
- pillow
- twin size blanket
- bath towel, hand towel, wash cloth
- medium size laundry detergent
- 4 pack of toilet paper
- 2 pack of paper towels
- small canister of ground coffee
- 2 cans tuna fish, 2 cans of chicken noodle soup, 2 cans fruit
*We are only able to accept donations of a complete welcome basket, not individual items. If you would prefer, you can provide funding for our staff to purchase welcome packages for our clients. For more information on how to donate, contact Randy Leggee at [email protected] (815) 759-7144.
