Residential Services
Our goal is to help individuals live as independently and productively as possible throughout their lives, while receiving the support they need to live safely. We provide either a supportive living program where the individual lives in his or her own apartment with support from our staff or a group home environment.
24 Hour Staffed Homes
Pioneer Center’s Community Homes (or Group Homes) provide a family living environment, where people share a home in the community with up to seven peers, with the supportive services of caring staff. Our Community Homes are immaculately maintained and are renowned for their homey feel and passionate staff support. The residents share in all aspects of running a Pioneer Center group home, such as cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping. Pioneer Center has eleven intellectual and developmental disability community homes nestled in neighborhoods throughout McHenry County.
Partially Staffed Homes
Supportive Living enables a person to live in his or her own apartment, with support and assistance from the Pioneer Center team. Staff help individuals build the skills they need to live independently, such as budgeting, grocery shopping and housekeeping. Our team also provides psycho-social support, helping each participant to cope with daily stresses.
