Give the Gift of Shelter
McHenry County isn’t immune to homelessness.
Over 21,000 McHenry County residents are living in poverty and 6,000 of those residents live in extreme poverty – earning less than 10,000 annually. This puts them in imminent risk of becoming homeless.
For every $1 donated and invested in homelessness prevention there is a $4 return to our community through emergency resources not needing to be used.
1 in 5 McHenry County households are paying over half their income on housing, making their housing situation unstable.
