Meet Jordan Debbink, our new Special Events & Volunteer Coordinator. We asked him five questions so you can get to know and love him just as much as we do!
What is your background? Where do you come from?
Jordan comes to Pioneer Center with 10 years experience in nonprofit best practices and 5 years in special education programming.
What draws you to social services and/or developmental disability services?
I want to be remembered for how I made people feel. Part of the joy of living is the ability to meet individuals where they are and lift them up. Human services offer me the access to live this out.
What’s rockin’ your world this month?
“As we get older, we define happiness less in terms of excitement and more in terms of peacefulness. Reverend Veronica Goines sums this up as, “Peace is joy at rest, and joy is peace on its feet.” ― Sheryl Sandberg, Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience, and Finding Joy
Who inspires you?
“You can measure your worth by your dedication to your path, not by your successes or failures.” ― Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear
There is nothing more refreshing than the power of not being defined by your failures.
Tell us something personal about yourself.
I am a huge Harry Potter fan!!
