Pioneer Center for Human Services is decking the halls in anticipation of its 13th Annual Holiday Book Review.
The event will take place at D’Andrea Banquets in Crystal Lake on Friday, December 7. It includes over 75 gift basket raffle items and a grand raffle featuring a LG 55” Smart Ultra HD TV, a Lake Geneva overnight package, dinner and a show with an overnight stay at the Marriott Theatre and Resort for 2, and an Amazon Echo Show!
This year, join nationally-syndicated humor columnist Lori Borgman as she examines the insanity of Holi-daze bound by family celebrations and holiday traditions. It begins with a simple string of outdoor lights. Then the lights cry out for a wreath, the wreath screams for a red plaid bow, and giant candy canes would sure look nice at the end of the driveway. Before you know it, you are gift wrapping the mailbox, winding tinsel around the luggage rack on the SUV and have six albino deer parked in the front yard.
“Our annual holiday luncheon and book review has raised awareness about Pioneer Center’s mission and impact in our community. The event is a festive and fun!” says Helen Ruth, founding member of the Holiday Book Review Committee. “I love the holiday spirit that explodes in everyone’s smiles and laughter as they gather together in a purposeful, powerful connection.”
Doors open at 10:45am with a social hour and raffles, lunch will be served at 12:30pm and the book review begins after lunch. Tickets are $50 each or you can purchase a table of 10 for $500.
In addition, you don’t have to attend the event to take your chance at winning one of the four great grand raffle prizes. Grand raffle tickets can be purchased online at www.holidaybookreview.org for only $10 each or 6 for $50.
