With #McHenryCountyGives, a local version of #GivingTuesday, just a few weeks away, the movement is growing each passing day. This week, the Cities of Crystal Lake, McHenry and Woodstock and the Village of Johnsburg issued proclamations recognizing December 1 as a day of giving. The Villages of Richmond and Spring Grove are also promoting the event.
Today, Pioneer Center is excited to announce that McHenry County Living joined the #McHenryCountyGives campaign as a media partner. Established in 2007, McHenry County Living is an award-winning digital magazine for McHenry County that specializes in high-quality, relevant local content and photography.
“McHenry County Living’s mission to be the positive voice of McHenry County extends to partnering with Pioneer Center to celebrate #McHenryCountyGives, a day of generosity right here at home. Find a nonprofit close to your heart in our Big Give guide – and let the giving begin!” Erica Burke, publisher, McHenry County Living.
Along with its partners, Pioneer Center asks that McHenry County residents consider giving to a local non-profit in the community where they live, work and play. Donating time, talent or treasure can make a true impact during the holiday season. At this time of year, especially in the absence of a budget for the State of Illinois, charities across the county need such generous dedication.
Need help with finding a local organization to volunteer at or give to? McHenry County Living’s Big Give Charity Guide offers an all-encompassing list of volunteer opportunities and charitable giving for McHenry County. With over 65 nonprofits sorted into categories like “animals,” “veterans,” and “environment,” the guide helps visitors link with non-profits in need. The full guide can be found at www.mchenrycountyliving.com/big-give-charity-guide.
#McHenryCountyGives follows the two heaviest shopping days of the year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday and was created as a day of giving back and giving more. Whether you visit www.pioneercenter.org/donate or the website of another local non-profit, Pioneer Center encourages McHenry County residents to join the #McHenryCountyGives movement December 1 and throughout the holiday season. Local businesses and non-profits interested in joining in on the #McHenryCountyGives movement can contact Pioneer Center at [email protected].
