Pioneer Center new admissions model, “CareNow,” has been such a success with community members seeking quicker and easier access to services that the organization has added a third day of walk-in admissions.
Starting April 7, Pioneer Center will offer walk-in admissions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am to 3 pm. On these days, individuals can visit the organization’s Veterans Parkway location in McHenry at a time most convenient for them—without calling ahead for an appointment.
“The community has eagerly embraced our open access “CareNow” model. Since we began offering walk-in admissions we’ve seen on average 25 plus individuals a week. It’s our hope that those numbers will continue to increase as we expand our days and hours,” said Danielle La Ha, Admissions Manager.
During the visit, individuals will fill out admissions paperwork, receive a mental health assessment and an individualized treatment plan. All of which takes about two hours to complete. As they leave, they will be provided with information about attending a weekly new client group called “Beginning the Journey” which helps individuals prepare for their treatment path. They will also be aware of the next steps in their treatment plan and have a point of contact should questions arise. Individuals should bring with their: Illinois State ID or Driver’s License, Social Security card, proof of Medicaid/Medicare/Insurance and proof of household income. In addition, to further expedite the process, they are encouraged to fill out and bring with them the admissions forms found at www.pioneercenter.org/needhelp.
The Admissions Office is located at Pioneer Center for Community Mental Health at 4100 Veterans Parkway in McHenry. To learn more, call 815.759.7204 or email [email protected]
