This December 1st Join the Local #GivingTuesday Movement
Across McHenry County, cities are proclaiming December 1, 2015 as #McHenryCountyGives Day. Led by Pioneer Center for Human Services, #McHenryCountyGives takes place on December 1, 2015 in correlation with #GivingTuesday.
This year, Pioneer Center is excited to be working with local governments, including the Cities of McHenry and Woodstock and the Villages of Johnsburg, Richmond and Spring Grove, to launch #McHenryCountyGives. Inspired by #GivingTuesday, the day is a local effort that harnesses the collective power charities, families, businesses and individuals to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.
A keystone of the McHenry County community for over 57 years, Pioneer Center is excited to be working with local governments to launch #McHenryCountyGives. With a mission to empower individuals to achieve their full potential, Pioneer Center is committed to providing the best opportunities for the McHenry County community.
“Pioneer Center is proud to lead #McHenryCountyGives and #GivingTuesday efforts for our community,” said Jackie Wells, President and CEO of Pioneer Center. “At this time of year, especially in the absence of a budget for the State of Illinois, nonprofit organizations across the area need your help. On December 1, and throughout the holiday season, we encourage you to make a difference in your community.”
Coinciding with the Thanksgiving holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #McHenryCountyGives inspires people to take action to improve McHenry County, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities they support and help create a better community. People are encouraged to give their time, talent or treasure to a nonprofit close to their heart.
