At the end of June, Pioneer Center for Human Services held its annual fundraising gala—Moonlight & Music. The event committee anxiously watched the sky and weather radar all day trying to determine if it was going to be safe to hold the event outdoors that night. A last minute decision to keep the event outside yielded a beautiful evening and an inspiring event for those in attendance.
More than 250 people celebrated on the ninth fairway at the Crystal Lake Country Club with Pioneer Center, helping to raise over $170,000—a record-breaking amount for this event.
“Between the works of the Pioneer Center Auxiliary, the charitable support provided by local business leaders and the generosity of the event-goers, Moonlight & Music continues to exceed our expectations,” said Christin Kruse, Chief Development Officer for Pioneer Center. “The sense of community and the infectious atmosphere one feels at this event is unsurpassed.”
A highlight came midway through the evening as Congressman Don Manzullo presented Vince and Pat Foglia with the inaugural “Make Change” award. Longtime supporters of Pioneer Center, Vince and Pat have been instrumental in growing programs and investing in the future of Pioneer Center. This award honored their heart and commitment to “making change.”
