Preparing for Challenging Times

Non-profit organizations are facing uncertain times. We continue to hear about potential cuts in government funding, most specifically cuts in Medicaid. These are resources Pioneer Center relies on for programs and services to meet the needs of our three pillars of care for our community: Developmental Disabilities, the Homeless, and Behavioral Health/Mental Health & Wellness.

Pioneer Center for Human Services is a 67-year-old organization with dedicated professionals who meet the needs of people unlike any other, due to the depth and breadth of our programs and services. Our clients depend on Pioneer Center for residency, daily care, food, shelter, training, education, therapy, health, and wellness. Most of the funding to support operations at Pioneer Center comes from federal, state, county, and local government, as well as our donors. Like government funding, donors play a vital part in supporting the good work that we do every day for all those we serve.

Cuts in Medicaid would greatly impact our funding and services needed to support our community. While considerations for continued support are taking place at a national level, the impact will be here soon. It could affect your neighbor, your relatives, or maybe even you.

Pioneer Center wants you to know that we are preparing for what may come with contingency plans. As we continue to monitor the Federal and State budget processes, we are also diversifying our revenue sources as best we can. We are applying for more private grants, alternate funding and reviewing all expenditures as we plan our fiscal 2026 budget.

We ask you to consider Pioneer Center in these uncertain times, so that those we serve can receive vital assistance. We will continue to support and serve our clients and remain an essential part of your community.

Regards,

Frank Samuel, CEO
