McHenry County PADS Homeless Shelter

The McHenry County PADS Program offers emergency shelter coupled with support services in order to help individuals experiencing homelessness work toward becoming self-sufficient. These support services enable individuals to receive crisis intervention, case management, linkage to community resources and life skills training, as well as day-to-day services including access to showers, laundry facilities, transportation, computers, and an address at which to receive mail.

Pioneer Centers PADS program has attained significant outcomes as reported in our 2022 annual report (link to report). Some successful results include:

• Provided housing for 145 clients including 8 families with 13 children.
• The average length of stay for people who exited the program was 87.5 days.
• Clients spent a total of 10,200 nights in our shelter.
• Provided 30,648 healthy meals to clients through our commercial kitchen.
