Pioneer Center announces the appointment of new board member Rik Master, a Research Architect & Building Scientist with over 40 years of experience. Rik is currently an architect for equitable housing projects at Main Architecture, a building science consultant at EcoSculpt Architects and works part time as an assistant Brewer with his son at McHenry Brewing. Recently, Rik provided architect and design support during the construction of our new McHenry County PADS Homeless Shelter.
Rik resides with his wife Peggy, married for 45 years, in a solar home he designed and built, located between Woodstock and Harvard. They have two sons Robert, a brewer/owner of McHenry Brewing Company and Richard Chase, an architect intern at Etegra Inc.
Rik explains,“For years I have designed, remodeled and constructed non-profit assisted housing projects across the United States, and I feel there is so much more needed.” Rik adds, “I have seen the impacts Pioneer Center has made in our communities and I can bring a different perspective and drive to this great organization.”
We are excited to have Rik join us and provide his wealth of experience to our Board of Directors.
