Our mentors model healthy, pro-social behaviors in community settings

Our community-based, mentoring program is offered for children and teens who are engaged in outpatient therapy, case management, or runaway and homeless youth services at Pioneer Center.

Therapeutic mentors chose activities based on the youth’s unique needs and strengths to foster pro-social behavior, demonstrate healthy relationships, build connections in the community, and rehearse problem-solving skills.

Mentoring combined with therapy and other services can help clients and families to achieve their goals more fully and quickly.

*Pioneer Center’s therapists use play and art interventions with clients; currently, none of our therapists are certified in art or play therapy.
