Welcome New Board Member Catie Schmit

Pioneer Center is proud to announce the appointment of Catie Schmit, MSN, RN, CEN, NEA-BC, currently serving as President of Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital. Catie brings extensive experience in both healthcare administration and hospital operations. She previously served as Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive at Northwestern Medicine, where she oversaw nursing and patient care operations. Catie’s expertise in strategic, system-level leadership, community health, financial stewardship, and partnership development will be valuable and a benefit to our Board of Directors and Senior Leadership.

“Serving on the Pioneer Center Board is an opportunity to advance dignity, independence, and inclusion while helping shape the strategy of a critical community organization,” explains Catie.

“It also allows me to extend my impact beyond the health system by strengthening partnerships that improve whole-person health in McHenry County,” adds Catie.

Catie also serves on the Board of Directors for the Family Health Partnership Clinic in Crystal Lake, Illinois. She and her husband, Tony, have three children and have lived in Crystal Lake for more than 25 years.
